Job Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - PMHNP 

This position requires an Arkansas license, that the incumbent would be a resident of Arkansas, and would require credentialing in insurance. 

Position Overview​The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will evaluate patients to diagnose and treat mental illness. Responsibilities include assessment and treatment of mental illness through a combination of psychiatric evaluation, medication management and therapy. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Gathers and maintains patient information and health history.
  • Conducts assessments, interviews, and observations.
  • Analyzes and evaluates patient data and findings and diagnose nature and condition of mental disorder.
  • Offers and performs medication management, infusions, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and psychotherapy to patients within the PMHNP scope of practice.
  • Prepares and maintains confidential records and reports.
  • Ensures treatment plans are devised, updated and implemented.
  • Works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and in collaboration the Medical Director and/or Chief Medical Officer.
  • Monitors the use of medications.
  • Collaborates with families on condition and treatment per HIPAA.
  • Refers clients to community resources or specialistsas necessary.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of treatment regimen and progress.
  • Learns new developments in the fields of study through professional literature, attending courses, and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
  • Provides consultation to other professions engaging in the treatment plan.
  • Organizes community education workshops in the facility and attends selected local community programs.
  • Builds referral base by visiting with local providers.
  • Participates in educational outreach activities, such as, provider luncheons.
  • Provides industry relevant tips for the company newsletter and community blog.
  • Follows company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control.
  • Provides patient education and answers questions from prospective patients and referring physicians.
  • Enforces all HIPAA compliance guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Requires ability to work under stressful situations demanding high concentration and energy level.

  • Knowledge of healthcare industry – Health Plan, MSO, CMS, Federal regulations.
  • Requires excellent analytical skills.

  • Possess interpersonal/listening skills to interact effectively with individuals of all backgroundsexperience, and educational levels.
  • Strong customer service skills to identify and address patient needs.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently to deliver key results.
  • Work collaboratively with a high degree of professional ethics.

Educational and Experience Requirements ANCC board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in state of residency with prescriptive authority.

  • Licensed in multiple states a plus!
  • Current APRN license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical and administrative experience. 
  • ANCC board certified PMHNP
  • BLS
  • ACLS
