Matthew Denefe is currently a fourth-year medical student at UAMS. During his first rotation, Matthew came across a patient with signs of human trafficking. Feeling unprepared to help his patient due to lack of training, Matthew has since worked hard to help medical professionals learn the signs of human trafficking. He has trained hundreds of medical professionals in medical, nursing and physician assistant programs. Matthew currently lives in Little Rock with his wife and two children and is working towards a career in emergency medicine.
