President's Message
Posted about 3 years ago
Arkansas Nurse Practitioners,
As I step into this leadership role, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the membership and the ANPA Board for granting me the opportunity to serve as president. For over 5 years, ANPA has fostered a place of growth and development, supporting and mentoring Nurse Practitioners in our association and beyond. As ANPA’s incoming President I look forward to building on that foundation and moving our initiatives forward.
Since ANPA’s inception, our association has continuously enhanced our portfolio of offerings, consistently providing high quality, timely and relevant content aimed at enhancing our profession. We continually have the goal to reach all Nurse Practitioners in Arkansas. Right now, we have approximately 500 members which is one fourth of the total Nurse practitioners in Arkansas. I can only imagine what we could accomplish we activated all nurse practitioners in our state with a common goal of advancing our practice and improving patient care. This goal exemplifies the forward-thinking mindset of our incredible group of volunteer leaders. I am confident this will position us to be the most inclusive association, inspiring all leaders to elevate their organizations through people.
Through this last year, ANPA has hosted many events that have differentiated our chapter among those in the surrounding area. Specifically, ANPA witnessed an incredible membership drive despite COVID that allowed us to hire our first ever lobbyist and advance monumental legislations for both our profession, our patients, and our State. The association pivoted to accommodate the demands of a changing environment in the midst of a pandemic. The community provided by the association has allowed us to inform, communicate, support, guide and direct nurse practitioners that are able to give the best possible care for their patients.
In addition to expanding the ANPA, we look forward to improving the association’s professional development offerings, engaging with the broader community, and becoming the leading resource for nurse practitioners in the states of Arkansas. As we navigate the ever-evolving Nurse Practitioner role, the Board and I remain committed to delivering you our members with the best possible association for each of you.
As we enter the new year, I encourage anyone wishing to provide feedback, suggestions, or simply to learn more about ANPA to contact me at president@ANPAssociation.org . Thank you for your involvement, interest, leadership, and support of ANPA’s Mission and Vision. I look forward to serving you in the coming year.
Sincerely,
Karren Reynolds BSN, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
