How many years have you been a nurse practitioner and what inspired you to become one?

5 years as a Nurse Practitioner. I felt like I had more to offer patients than what I could do as a Nurse.

What is your background and how did you develop your skill set?

I have a background in geriatrics, pediatrics, home health and med/surg. I am now a Family Nurse Practitioner. I feel like having all ages of life in practice and being involved as a community home health caregiver is what made me who I am today.

What is your biggest success to date?

I would say my biggest success to date is opening my own Primary Care clinic.

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge also has to be opening my own clinic! Lol! I have a primary care clinic in a town with two major hospitals and it’s still thriving.

What inspires you to hit the ground running each morning?

My kids. I want my kids to see their Mom as one who gave it all she had every single day.

What’s an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?

Most people don’t know I am afraid of birds. lol!!!

When you’re not working, what is your favorite thing to do?

Travel. I’ve visited over 10 countries across 3 continents (including North America). The other two are Africa and Europe.
