One of the reasons you don’t want to miss our state conference is our amazing speakers. Let us introduce you to one of them: Dr. Cindy Cooke is a family nurse practitioner in Huntsville, AL. 
Dr. Cooke has a diploma in nursing from Mary Meek School of Nursing in Abilene, TX, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas Arlington and a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Alabama Huntsville. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Alabama Birmingham with a focus on health literacy. 
Dr. Cooke has been active in local, state and national NP organizations since her graduation. She is past president of North Alabama Nurse Practitioner Association (NANPA), the founding president of the Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Alabama (NPAA), past president of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, past American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Alabama State Representative and past AANP Region 11 Director. She recently served as the AANP President. Dr. Cooke actively speaks locally and nationally on various clinical and health policy topics. She was selected as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2009.
Dr. Cooke is married and currently resides in Huntsville, AL. She enjoys family activities with their adult children, grandchildren, sports, singing in a female a cappella group and travels extensively. She is a member of numerous professional organizations including NANPA, NPAA and AANP.
