A little bit about ANPA:
Nurse Practitioners in Arkansas have networked and collaborated for well over two decades. Several active NP regional associations have successfully met the local needs of NPs in their geographic areas. The Arkansas Nurses Association has served nursing well in Arkansas for decades. However, many NPs in AR have envisioned a Statewide NP Association to strengthen the Voice of the professional NP in Arkansas.

In 2012, several NPs began to look seriously at the potential of forming a State NP Association.

In 2013 a handful of NPs met to discuss this possibility, but the consensus was that the timing wasn't right.

June 2014, at the AANP National Conference in Nashville, TN, eight individuals unanimously agreed that now was the time to form the Arkansas NP Association. Initial brainstorming was followed by about 40 NPs in Arkansas expressing their interest and support, agreeing that 2014 was the year.

July 2014, a core group of NPs from across AR began to meet, establish the vision, goals, purpose and to develop a set of Bylaws to form the ANPA structure, laying a solid foundation for success.

August 2014, an interim board was established and a Strategic Planning group formed to establish short and long term goals and plans

October 2014, the Arkansas Nurse Practitioner Association was incorporated.

January 2015, the official Membership Campaign was launched.

Join the ANPA Association Today and raise the Voice of NPs in AR!
