HB is being challenged for parliamentary process. Opponents are stating that an interim study is necessary for each bill filed.  As many of you may know, ArNA presented a comprehensive interim study to the joint legislative committee on 11/25/14, prior to filing HB 1165, which would give PAs and NPs authority to prescribe all Schedule II drugs.

This urgent message has been distributed by ArNA.  Please read ArNA's message below and send an email to members of the House Committee for Public Health, Welfare and Labor now. You can find the email list of the legislators attached.  HB1165 and a sample email to send is also attached.

"We believe this is an attempt by the the opponents of HB 1165 to keep it from being heard at all. What that means is that Rep. Justin Gonzales will testify before the House Rules Committee TOMORROW (Wed.) Feb. 25 that HB 1165 was filed in compliance with the House Rules and should go forward.

We need your help TODAY! The Rules Committee will meet at 12 pm tomorrow and will decide whether to allow HB 1165 to go forward!

Attached you will find a template letter and a list of the email addresses and phone numbers of all the House Rules Committee members. Please write to them ALL and ask them to vote with Rep. Justin Gonzales to allow HB 1165 to be heard.

Sincerely,

ARNA Committee for Health Policy

Mary Garnica, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, ARNA Committee for Health Policy Chairperson
Rhonda Finnie, DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC, ARNA President
Debbie Shelton, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, ARNA Health Policy Committee Member
